The Today list is pretty self explanatory. I decided to radically simplify things and divide all my projects into two lists:Īlso I’ve built a shortcut for managing both of them.

It paralised me, rather than motivated me. Being a person that prefers to sit and do things from start to finish, it felt really disappointing to realise just how little time I had for my own projects on a daily basis. By seeing the next steps of my projects 3, I just ended up not starting them in case I couldn’t finish the whole thing in one day. And it was gorgeous!īut, that also meant I kept letting things slip.

I had a perspective called Summary which I loved! In it, I could basically see all my important tasks, subcategorised by deadline and project. And here’s where all my previous systems kept failing me. The obvious first step here, is to figure out what my priorities are. Both as a way to destress and to focus 2 better on what I think matters most. Lately, pilling debt life has forced me to appreciate the merits of minimalism. It forced taught me to simplify and optimise. Meaning things like Siri, Spotlight search, iCloud syncing and specially the Shortcuts app, all work seamlessly with each other, never failing to do just what you want them to.ģ. Being native, it’s highly integrated with iOS in general. But Reminders also comes with a very clear advantage: it’s a native app! That means two things:Ģ. I’ve migrated to Reminders almost as a desperate attempt to find refuge from paywalls. But, as they say: necessity is the mother of invention. Then add a bank account (yes! Your bank is also a subscription service!), electricity, rent, transport, taxes ( oh, so many taxes!)… At the end of the day, I just don’t have that much money left! And then I also feel bad whenever I get mad at an app for trying to make an honest living trough subscriptions. I already have music and streaming services. The sheer accumulation of subscription bills to pay make quality apps unaffordable for people of an average income. Developers and the apps they create must be supported to make the updates worth their time. Honestly, these ******* subscription models are killing the wonder of apps for me.ĭon’t get me wrong, I am not against subscription models. …But then the paywall came back to haunt me. Plus, it has several integrations with iOS’s Shortcuts app, which allowed me to use a customised automation for automatic tagging all of my tasks effortlessly. And I feel confident that the app will not ever let me down when it comes to syncing and reminder triggers. The native geo-triggers are amazing! The customisations are almost endless 1.

It really is the most powerful app out there. To the surprise of no one, that app did not disappoint. So eventually I decided to pay the Omni group and give my first paid app a try (hey! At least it’s not a subscription, right?). But the lack of features like repeating tasks, hiding crossed checklist items, paywall for more than one add-on, custom fields throughout the app instead of per card…those things drove me nuts. Instead I went with Trello, mostly for it’s flexibility. But that hefty price wall kept me from fully investing in the app. But I don’t want all my to-do lists visible at all times. Personally, I don’t like to have my task lists separated amongst different apps. And just overall unreliability when it came to syncing and triggers… All plagued my search for the ideal candidate. Lack of automation ( Almost every new app). Unattractive interfaces ( Todoist, Tasks). Missing features ( Due, Wunderlist, MinimaList). For quite awhile now, I have been frustrated with most Task Managers on iOS.
